Who We Are

The People of Mount Zion

We are a warm Church Family committed to supporting people in our community and around the world. At Mt. Zion, we embrace you just as you are and truly hope you find a sense of belonging with us. We look out for one another and lend our support, particularly when times get tough. Diverse ideas and viewpoints are also welcomed, and we respect other faiths as well.

Mission

We truly feel that it is through God’s Grace that we are given the wonderful promise of eternal life. We can't earn Grace. It's a gift from God, and all we must do is embrace it (or accept it). God cared for us deeply, sending his only Son, Jesus, to take our place and bear our sins.

Grace is a wonderful gift from God to all of us, no matter who we are or what we've done. It is through God’s grace all things are possible!

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God—not the result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Our Vision

Our vision is to be a thriving, Christ-centered community that transforms lives and impacts our city and beyond with God’s love. We aspire to be a beacon of hope, welcoming all people to experience the life-changing power of Jesus, grow in their faith, and live out their purpose. Through intentional discipleship, compassionate outreach, and empowering leadership, we seek to inspire generations to follow Jesus and make a lasting impact on our world.

Our Beliefs

The United Methodist Church, known for its significant membership, focuses on outreach, engagement, and the practice of Christian living. The mission is to serve and transform lives through worship, fellowship, study, and service, drawing its inspiration from Matthew 25:35-36 and 28:19.

The mission is to serve both within and beyond the church. The church seeks to transform lives, foster connections, cultivate relationships, and reinforce faith through its service to others.

Growing in faith happens in four main areas:
     • Worship: Giving God gratitude and praise.
     • Fellowship: Building meaningful friendships, that matter.
     • Studies: Enhancing our relationships with each other and most importantly with God.
     • Service: Using our spiritual gifts to help others

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you cared for me, I was in prison and you visited me…Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”
